mahaRERA Received 2000 Complaints

Recently mahaRERA received 2,000 complaints from buyers and developers; the interesting thing is that 90% of complaints are from home buyers. Regarding these complaints, authority has recently appointed two adjusting officers to decide the penalty for these cases against developers.

As per the officials, a majority of complaints are for delayed possession, interest claims, sales agreement and claims etc. According to Satbir Singh, RERA Member, "in the meantime, we have received approximately 1,974 complaints and we are in process of working on nearly 1000 complaints. Approximately more than 90 percent of complaints are from home buyers and we ensure that justice is being delivered to them. Now, we are maintaining a register where complainants can write their feedback about RERA Property Legal Solution. We are receiving good response from buyers till now."

In the meantime, mahaRERA has started a forum with members from grahak panchayat and builder's associations to resolve disputes.

Before the conciliation bench, 77 requests have been made for hearing and we have completed the process. The hearing will start on March 10.

The benches have been formed in different locations in Mumbai and Pune.
