Supreme Court : Amrapali Home Buyers and Builder to build consensus

Apex court of India, today ordered Amrapali Group to conduct a meeting with buyers and conclude  about the status of its projects which are nearing completion. The court said that the meeting between representatives of Amrapali Group and home buyers should be held at the consultation room of Supreme Court on Friday, March 17. Arun Mishra and U U Lalit, Justices of Supreme court, says after the meeting, a consensus has to be reached and various points including the time needed for completion of projects, incomplete projects, and other issues.

According to the bench, “The joint statement of Amrapali group and home buyers should be filed before the court on March 27, so that Court can check the problems faced by the parties. The proposals should be in a tabular form in which every detail should be mentioned in details of time needed for completion, nearing completion projects and untouched works”.

There is an urgent need for consensus because bench wants the home buyers to get their flat as early as possible. Just refund of the amount is not possible. On February 22nd, The Supreme Court had mentioned the plight of the buyers and real estate firms should consider the situation of the buyers. The court also instructed the real estate firms to handover the projects within the given time frame.RERA is working for the betterment of interest of buyers and RERA Act is available to safeguard the interest of the buyers.

The court had permitted the firm to immediately start the work of the Leisure Park housing project in Greater Noida West in Uttar Pradesh. The group should be true to their promises towards the court and home buyers. The Developer had given details of its projects, Stages of work and completion date.

The details comprise of the tasks related to the 19towers of Leisure Park project with the specific information on the number of floors, sealable area, completion date and balance payout to the buyers. The group had said that they will deliver the possession from 3-15 months and Rs 87.28 crore would be required for completion.

Amrapali Group also mentioned that 12 developers extended their support for completion of the projects.
